When would be the best time to transplant Canebrake Bamboo, and is there any specific method of doing so?

Thanks for any info.

I am assuming this is real bamboo (Arundinaria gigantea) and not a giant reed (like Arundo donax). Between now and spring is a good time as bamboo is fairly dormant during this time. To have a successful transplant, you need to do some hard digging so you get a decent size rootball. If you want more info, email me and I'll send you detailed instructions on how to take a division.
