Unsure of type of bamboo.

Hi,

Recently I saw on a television program a bamboo that is great for privacy. On the program they said that once your happy with the height of the bamboo just clip a bit off the top and the bamboo will stop growing upward and start growing bushier.

Would anyone know what type of bamboo this is??

Unfortunately, that could be any of dozens of bamboo. With about 1200 species, it's hard to say.

You can top any bamboo and those culms will not grow taller. I wouldn't expect them to get bushier than they would have otherwise, however.

I've heard that p. bisetti is good for privacy screening. It is supposedly a fast grower too.
