When we get several unusually warms days here during the Winter months, some of my bamboos will start to put up shoots. Just like the present. We are having 85F temps here for the highs, and a few bamboos have put up some small shoots.

I guess they are fooled and think it's Spring.

The strange thing is they aren't small shoots. They are much taller than the bamboo plant itself. You are right though, the warm weather might have fooled them.

I have some potted bamboos that I put inside of one of my greenhouses and some started to shoot a few days later. They were larger shoots also, and will probably be taller than the plants are now.

My Black Timor has a shoot coming as well. It is growing slower than the summer ones but it's chugging along.

I only planted this bamboo last March or so.
