| Growing basjoo in the Tri-State region here in zone 7 on coast of Connecticut on Long Island Sound. Has anyone in New Jersey, Maryland, Long Island...been able to get basjoo to produce bananas?
My basjoo is about two years old- it has 3 large (7 foot) stalks each with about 10 large leaves. I read that for basjoo to fruit you need at least 35 leaves? Has anyone else heard this? How big untill it produces bananas? Here is mine. We have about 2 months till frost. |

| If you can keep them growing for about 12-18 months they will bloom. My experience is 35 leaves means nothing. Maturity is what counts. Your plants look awfully short. How do you keep them over winter? |
