Does anyone have experience with growing sabas in the above zone? I would guess it would do allright but would like to know more before I buy one. Thanks, Woods

Hi Woods, I don't have a lot of experience growing Saba because I just started growing one last year (zone 8, Washington state). It's still a small plant in a pot but the good thing about it is it is growing in a low light non-heated garage while many other varieties don't. I put it out when the temp is in 20s and it has no damage. I'll test in at lower temp once it's bigger. I'm sure it will have damage in the teens but I have a feeling that it will come back. Sorry that's all I have experienced so far.

Thanks winsrow. I talked to a guy at going bananas and he recommended it for up here (he is in homestead). They have a good site; going-bananas.com I think. Thanks for sharing your experience. It gives me confidence that it will do well here. Woods

Yes, I bought some bananas from them in the past. You should be able to grow some other varieties in your zone. I think dwarf orinoco is also a good one.
