new to bananas as ive said before and am wondering if this is out of the norm...

its in a cage and is doing very well. lots of growth. oh and its a truly tiny

That is normal with all Cavendish types you are ok

Its very normal. Mine gets it all the time and grows as normal. If the whole trunk starts getting that color and the plant's health is declining, then its a problem.
