Frost damaged Goldfinger bananas - any hope?

Hi banana growers, this is my first experience with bananas. My Goldfinger produced its flower and 11 hands of 17 fruits each at the beginning of October.

The pix shows what I'm assuming is frost damage. There was a frost in early December and other chilly nights, but it hasn't gone below freezing (yet). The mother plant isn't dormant and still has a few very tattered leaves. My question is: is the damage to the skin only or is the whole fruit ruined?

If the fruit is ruined, should I remove the damaged bananas now or leave the whole shebang and see what happens come spring?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Monica
