Bananas & water quality

Hi. I like to know, if bananas can be watered during hot months with saline water. The reason for asking this is, because during summer the water in my well is getting saline (i am near the sea) but in winter time it is ok.

Some people say that they water bananas with waste water, from washing machines etc but I want to know the effection of saline water.

I also know that bananas can be planted next to the beach - but i don't know where they are watered from..

Bananas aren't too tolerant of salt. I have heard about this issue years before. Check out this webpage and read esp in the "soil" paragraph.
