My banana plants are starting to grow again here in California. We have had a nice stretch of rain followed by warm, sunny weather.

I have 13 Musa Basjoo that never stopped growing all winter. I cut the stalks off at about 5ft. They just keep putting out new leaves that get fried by frost, I cut them off again, and then they start over again. Maybe soon I won't have to cut them off anymore...bring on Spring!

Thank you. My living room is full of banana plants, some of which are still starting to come out of dormancy. The cavendishes are putting out 1 leaf every 2 weeks and the basjoo is pushing out a leaf per week. It may be too big to go out the door when I can finally put it outside during the day starting in late April. It is nice to see blooms as the only things left blooming now are the hibiscus' and a hippeastrum.
