naners in zone 6?

I know someone just posted a question like this, but I have a different question.

Willis Orchards has 2 banana plants on their website tht say the'll grow well in Z7. But their Z7 covers part of what I consider Z6, which is where I live. After finding out that the bananas you buy in the store are cloned, I'd like to try and grow my own. Will these plants really survive through the cold weather/occasional snow AND produce viable fruits?

I would consider both of those zone 8 or 9 plants. No way will they winter over in zone 6, or even zone 7 without MAJOR protection.

There are no edible bananas that will survive zone 6.

Has anyone dealt with Willis Orchards in the past? I looked them up on Garden Watchdog but they aren't listed...

Dave in nova is right. Get a musa basjoo and astonish your neighbors with the foliage, but forget overwintering fruit bearing bananas in the ground in zone 6.
