Will 'frosted' fruit ripen?

We had some light frost here east of Orlando that turned most of the leaves on my bananas brown but the trunks are fine and the fruit is still green. I read in the local paper that I should just cut those mamas down and only leave the pups as the fruit will not ripen or, if it does, it will be pithy.

Do you all think that is good advice or should I give them time and see what happens. The plants with fruit are Misi Luki and Praying Hands.

Thanks!

Anita
