I would cut that down to the soil line keep it barely moist and put it in full sun.

Is the soil as wet as it looks? This time of year plus indoor in a plastic pot you probably didn't need to water it once or maybe twice in the past month. If you watered more, I'd try "fluffing" the soil being careful not to break roots and let it dry out some in the best light you have. Good luck!

Could be a number of reasons.

Not enough light, so it slowed growth, then overwatering so roots died and it couldn't support leaf growth.

Or just plain overwatering.

Or it got spider mites, leaves died, then overwater.

Hard to tell exactly without more information on growing temp, light levels, possible bug infestation problem, etc.

What I'd do now is set it in your warmest window with best light. If soil is moist, stop watering! Wait until it sends up a leaf. Water only when dry about an inch or two inches down in soil. Check for spider mites and treat. Mist new leaves with water. Don't let water sit in the saucer.

That's my best advice.

The plant taped to your wall is a bloom from a Protea species. They are from arid regions like South Africa.
Sorry to see your plant in such bad shape.

My banana prayers are with you. Tropicallvr is correct. The picture is a Protea. There are many different types. All can be dried and stay interesting looking for years. They are also grown and shipped around the world from the high elevation protea farms on Maui and probably from some of the other Hawaiian islands.
