When should I remove the mulch covering after winter?

Probably in May for Ohio. What variety do u have ?

I'm in an area pretty similar to yours (WV)
I was actually going to uncover this weekend, but we are going to have 20s tonight, so I'll uncover this week... then if we have a cold snap, I'll throw something over them for the night. I only covered 5 this year, and when I peeked under a couple of them, there was already about 10 inches of new growth. They're ready to grow.
All the others but one appear to have made it uncovered, ad this was our worst winter in a very long time. All but two of mine are deep planted ... 2 to 3 feet down!

Thanks. I'll uncover this week. We are supposed to be in the 20's tonight also. Not sure what variety I have.
