New Cavendish Banana Tree! - I hope I don't kill it!

hi everyone!

I just got my baby cavendish banana tree in the mail on Saurday. I just wanted to join this forum and get some tips/support because I'm very new to this and Im so afraid I'm going to kill it!

So I have it in a 10 inch ceramic pot with a drainage hole. It is planted in a mix of perlite, the "root stimulating soil mix" that it came with, and the other 50 percent is an organic potting mix from a garden center.

I have the baby on my balcony, where it gets about 6 or more hours of full sun. So far, so good. The leaves don't look great, but it has only been two days since it was in a cardboard box being tossed around in the back of a truck. The leaves should improve, right??

I have been watering it everyday. I think this is my main concern. I really have NO idea how to tell if I'm giving it enough water. I've been trying to go by the general rule of not watering it if it feels wet, but only if the top couple inches of soil feels dry. Is that about right?

Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
