Hello I am new to Musa Basjoo and wanted to know if I can plant this close to a foundation or patio. I want to make sure roots don't lift up the patio or foundation. Does the plant spreadout quick or can I plant two in one location. I was thinking one in each coerner of the patio. Thanks for your comments!

It will put out pups and some will grow under your foundation. I'd say if you plant it about 4' out from the foundation, you would be able to dig out any pups.

I think it's OK to plant them close to a patio foundation. They are clump forming however their stems are just leaves and are not strong enough to damage a foundation or patio. The corm should also get halted by a solid foundation.

I also agree they should be planted a few feet away just because they can get pretty big, and grow lots of pups.
