I have 2 Banana trees I bought from Wal-mart last year. They both pulled through the winter even with high 20's and frost. Their tags read "Musa" and that's it. The tags also read the plant can only take temps down to 40 F. I don't think their Dwarf Cavens but I could be wrong. Can you help me ID them please?

Also, is it ok for me to peel/remove the old "bark like" substance on the trunk of the first banana tree?
