Last year I bought two little Banana trees God knows what kind. I planted them in pots on the porch and they grew to 6 feet. Winter came they dried up. I took them in the Garage. Recently I cut all the dead branches to the root. 4 weeks passed and nothing happening. I thought that a little baby banana tree will show up. Is there any specific time for these things to get alive. I am in zone 7 which is cold , very cold outside. When it warms up and I take them outside are they going to grow?

I Don't know how cold hardy the plants are, how cold it got before you move the bananas to the garage or how cold it was in the garage. My hardy bananas are already coming up so I would go ahead and move them to a heated room and place in front of a window first. Then after the weather warms up a little move them out and wait. If by chance they do come up, remove a pup and plant it. That way if it comes back next year you will have some idea of the hardiness of the plant.

    Good luck!
