I think that would be just fine. I noticed that last year when we had highs in the 100+ the new leaves on my musa basjoo would burn and dry up on the edges. They get zero shade once they hit 6 feet plus which is about in July. How many hours total sun are they getting?

One is getting 9 hours and the other 8 hours.

I think that would be plenty of sun especially with it being morning to mid afternoon.

Thanks Mike. I use late, afternoon shade on one of my apple trees in hopes of beating the heat. It is a Cox's Orange Pippen. It likes humidity which we have but not to found of high heat. it is newly planted this year so I have a few years to see how it works.
