Dwarf Cavendish vs. Lady Finger

Cold-climate gardener here with a question...I have grown Super Dwarf Cavendish (Novak) in a large pot for a number of years, but have never been able to get it to flower. I lose too much ground every winter. I have been able to get a decorative species (M. ornata 'Royal Red') to bloom by the end of every summer, so I must be doing some things right...lots of sun, heat, water, and fertilizer.

My question is whether it is worth the time to try Lady Finger...can anyone tell me if it is more quickly or more easily brought into flower than Super Dwarf Cavendish?
