Bananas indoors do not want a lot of water. Let the soil get dry on top before watering each time. (Outdoors is different - lots of water is OK then.)

It may have spider mites. My potted bananas do the same thing when they get mites. Look carefully at the leaves and look for tiny moving specks. To prevent spider mites I frequently mist the leaves with water.

Thanks for the watering tip. Perhaps I over watered. It drank it so fast. I have read that over watering will cause corm rot. Will letting the soil dry out reverse this? What about repotting? it is in a 12 inch pot. This plant is in my classroom window.

My second plant, at home, has spider mites that I battle with Mite-X. Leaf stems have black areas get weak and bend. Some new leaves unfurl with black spots. I keep cutting off the bad parts but that leaves only a couple of leaves on a 2 ft psudo stem. Any ideas?
