Is it a kind of Cavendish? The mother plant also looks very different from her pups. I wonder if the red variegation will fade away as they grow. I've been wondering about bananas having pups while the mother plant is still small--that they will end up as small plants. Is that true of ALL bananas? The pseudostem of my Praying Hand has just reached 6 ft and it's only just now producing a new pup. So, I'm guessing this is going to be a big banana plant. Sometimes the info about bananas height provided by nurseries or even internet don't always match. Once the nursery I bought my Gran Nain from, told me that it would grow to 14ft. when I read about it on the internet, it says only to 6-8ft.

According to the leaf-pattern, this would be a normal dwarf cavendish as sold by millions every year.
They reach between 1,6 and 2,1 meter (5-7 ft) for the pseudostem, depending on the cultivar. If you feed it well and enough light it will be a bit smaller than with less good conditions, but easier to keep.
The red pattern will disappear.
