I have a very large banana, either Ice Cream or Monkey Fingers, I'm not sure which. Anyway, it's a potted banana and it currently about 18 feet tall with one pup. It it indoors all winter here in Chicago and outside all summer.

This winter, it grew like crazy with the leaves each at about 7 feet long. About 2 weeks ago, a new leaf opened and it's only about 4 feet long. I didn't worry about it as a new leaf was forming next in line. That next leaf just opened over the weekend and now that leaf is fully un-rolled and is only about 2 feet long. This is strange. There is another leaf coming out of the crown, so it seems to be doing fine, but I'm baffled by the small leaves all of a sudden.

I know that just before it flowers it makes usually one very small leaf, but I don't get what's happening here. Any suggestions as to what might be happening?
