Hello, everyone...I was wondering how to start a new banana when the old one has bananas and dies. For the main plant, should I sever a pup and plant it, or should I leave a pup attached to the old mama plant and let it grow? I don't know if it would continue to feed from mama or not.

Also, I'm not sure if I have an apple banana or not. The bananas did taste like apples, but I don't know if the manzana banana is the only one that tastes like apple or not. The bananas were about three inches in diameter and about six or seven inches long. I know some of them weighed over a pound.
