They only bloom when they are ready and I believe its based on amount of leaves it has grown. How old is it?

I belong to bananas.org and I read a post where they said you can stimulate a banana to bloom if you fertilize it with miracle grow once a week I am doing this with my basjoos to see if it will work as they are plenty mature enough to produce blooms. Also they say you should separate pups where they don't drain the energy from the mother plant. I think you have to leave one so when the mother fruits and dies there will be one left to take her place.
