Cut the parent back to ground level when it is dried out. You can remove a pup if you want, later on, but for now, with trauma it has had, I would leave everything alone for a while.

I hit one with the lawnmower and had about 5 pups come up. I usually let them get a little bigger and then dig them up if I don't want them in a clump. BTW it seemed to work the same with a pineapple that I planted out in the yard, it put up three pups when I mowed momma. I need to be a better more careful lawn mower. I'm afraid my daughter is following in my footsteps though. She mowed through a patch of new yellow groove bamboo sprouts I was going to dig up and sell this fall. I sure paid too much for her to mow the yard that time, I paid her $25 and she mowed down about $250 worth of bamboo! Ouch!

I just had a calf get in the yard and break a GF and an Cuban Red..and stomp a Pampas.. I am sooo mad.. BUT all I could do was cut them to the ground.. soo maybe it will work out I will at least get pups...LOL
Adam.. Sorry to hear about your Banana . I'm with them cut it back and let those pups grow...
