OK...my banana is now setting fruit and I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

1) I see that there are what appear to be stamens on the tips of each little banana that has formed. Do these need to be pollinated in order for the bananas to continue to grow to be full size?

2) Any idea on approximately how long it will take for the entire stalk of bananas to form?

3) About ripening, do they all ripen at the same time, or do the oldest ones ripen first followed by the others in order?

Any other information that anyone cares to share about fruiting would be appreciated.
