I planted my Musa last week. I just got a bag of Milorganite. Should I just apply on top of thesoil or should I dig up some of the soil from the top and mix it in? Also, how much should I apply? Also I have one in a planter. Should I just apply on top?

Beachbum: I would mix it in the soil that will be used as back fill and put a nice top dressing on top before covering the planting area with mulch. Then water in well and don't be shy with the amount, about a pound to a pound and a half should get it going. In July apply another application around the banana. The results should be breathtaking once it starts growing.
