hey guys I was wondering about using a mix of mostly cotton seed hulls with perilite, we have a cotton gin in my town and they are free and seem to be the best fertilizer in the world!!!! so what do you guys think I have tried many other soils and they all seem to retain and hold to much water for my bananas liking lol, the picture is straight cotton hull seeds and perilite mixed

Unless your soil is holding standing water because the drain holes in the pot are plugged, I don't think a pot of any type soil will be too wet for them. We get a LOT of rain here in South Florida and the bananas like it fine in every soil.

But since you say the hulls are a good fertilizer as long as they like it I say go ahead!
