My tastebuds (very near perfect, by the way) are partial to Namwah, Misi Luki, Belle, Lakatan, Goldfinger, Pisang Ceylon, Mysore, Sweetheart, or just about any banana that I am eating.+

Texture: Not too smushy, not too chewy
Sweetness: Not too sweet
Flavor: Preferably with a unique flavor--hint of apple, mango, strawberry for example.

Here, I'm referring to the eating ones. As for plantains, I suppose most of them have a tougher texture to it?

that was an interesting link. Tissue culture is definitely very new to me. The video info was educational too. I wonder why they only TC ice cream bananas exclusively instead of including other rare species such as Ae Ae or other exotic varieties which are harder to buy elsewhere. By the way, do you happen to be also the owner of the site? In any case, thanks for the link. It was an absolute eye opener!
