St. Lucia banana variety

When I was in St. Lucia, I ate a delicious banana - dark yellow and very sweet. I was told that these fruits are not sold in the US because the Central American growers have the market locked up. Now that I live in Florida, I'd like to try growing some. Does anyone know the name of the variety of banana that's grown in St. Lucia or where the plants might be purchased?

Many years ago, I got my first banana plants, in St. Lucia. They were Gros Michel.
