Depends on what look you want. Basjoo is considered an ornamental banana rather than an edible banana. With edible bananas, I leave two pups of different height attached to the mother to attempt to get fruit at different times of the year. With my ornamentals, I just let them grow and thin out when they get out of bounds. If you want to have a second planting of Basjoo in another location in your yard, you can leave a couple of pups on the mother and replant the other pups elsewhere. Either way will work.

Thanks so much! I have never grown bananas until last year and wasn't sure what to do. How much of the corm do you need to remove with the pup for it to grow without damaging the mother plant?
