I am in the Pearland area and I recently saw Dwarf Orinoco at a local Home Depot. I saw Musella lasiocarpa at Lowe's and at Houston Palm Tree (on 45 South) I recently saw Musa 'High Color Mini' (really dwarf) and Musa velutina. All of these should do well in a decent sized pot on your patio provided you have plenty of sun. Let me know if you have trouble finding these as I have access to some Dwarf Cavendish, Super Dw. Cavendish, M. lasiocarpa, Musa mannii (tops out at about 3-4 feet in the ground for me), as well as some seeds for Musa velutina. I also have Musa laterita which works well in a pot and flowers very easily too! We'll work something out if you can't find anything in your area. Where are you in Houston?

I picked up my Dwarf Cavendish at Home Depot here. Still awaiting arrival of Dwarf Orinco from an eBay purchase. Nice to know HD gets other var too. I found Lowe's has bananas too. Mick -- Abilene, TX

I havent seen at at my local lowes or home depot. Where was that home depot in pearland? Im not that far from there. Im near sugarland in far sw houston. I will have to call and ask around in this part of town first to see what they have.

The HD I mentioned is at the intersection of FM 518 and Dixie Farm Rd. The Lowe's is at 518 near Pearland Parkway.

I think there are also Lowe's and HD closer to 518 and 288 (West Pearland). The one's I mentioned above are futher east along 518, closer to Friendswood.
