Plantain Bloom problem - help!

bananafan

I don't know what's wrong with my plantain bloom. It was doing ok until now. The newly emerging bananas are dropping off from the bloom rapidly. Those which have turned green seem to be ok. I've noticed though that there have been a lot of ants around the bloom and wasps too. What do you think is attracting them? I'm wondering if the daily shower here is causing the bloom to drop. I've noticed lots of mushrooms emerging from the base of another banana stem and elsewhere in the yard too. Is there anything I can do to prevent the newly emerging bananas from dropping off? I really don't want to see this new bloom disintegrating into yard trash. If you have any advice to offer, would appreciate it.
