Try Bordelon

It was probly a number of any of the forms of Musa acuminata subsp. zebrina, depending on growing conditions and exact form the dont always have the variegation at cetain stages.

My guess would Sikkimensis.

sikkimensis often loses a lot of its coloring with age and is not nearly as common as zebrina.

On a related note, I just saw that my first sikkimensis seed has come up after months of waiting, its supposed to be one of those 'Red Tiger' but I doubt there is any difference, but we will have to see how it developes.

Well I was out buying palms today and saw this red top, maroone bottom banana across the nursery and after working our way to it, discovered that the mature plant leaves were indeed solid green on top and solid maroon on the bottom, BUT the several pups coming up around it looked exactly like the zabrina verigated I have but that plants stayes verigated. Still wondering.

Sounds like Bordelon to me.

Probably Red Iholene

I bet it's bordelon, too. The ones I'm growing right now are around a foot tall or so, but they only have slight amount of variegation on the top side, but bright red below side. They are supposed to get a little taller than 8 feet though, but I'm sure that depends on conditions where you're growing them.
I've got about 50 of them.
