I have a Basjoo clump that is in its second year. It came through winter fine and has grown well this summer. I love the dense foliage, but I am wondering if I can just let the multiple pups that have come up (some almost as big as the mother plant) grow where they will or do I need to thin them out for long term health. I want the clump to expand and as I said the denser the better, but I am just not sure what the consequences would be of just letting it grow?

Do you big clump growers out there do much thinning?
