Big Momma's got BABIES!

Hah, I've finally done it! We live just outside of VAncouver, B.C. and my 4 yr old little banana tree grew a big bulbous flower and is spewing forth with about 100 little 2 inch (so far) bananas!! Many of our neighbours have the plants, but have never actually gotten any nanners. I just hope it stays warm long enough so they ripen. I wonder if they are edible? Are there any types that are not edible?

yes there are a few bananas you can't eat

JEFF: I have absolutely no idea what type it is. My neighbour gave me the pup from his grove (which he was trying to kill off---the horror!!!) that is about 45 yrs old. We all just keep sharing and transplanting them. One banana split coming your way, if they ripen!

TOPHER: Thanks for the link. That was really quite interesting. Too bad that Big Momma is going to turn to fertilizer after she has her babies....maybe I should call her Charlotte (like the spider) instead!
