Hi,

We inherited this banana tree in the house we moved into. We've just come back from two weeks away to find the tree looking very sad. The leaves are all brown and the trunk has black spots on it. Is there something wrong? Can it be fixed?

As a side note it was very cold here over the last few weeks, the coldest on record in Melbourne. The lowest minimum overnight temperature was about 2.3 degrees Celsius. We are wondering if the cold weather might be a factor.
