what fertilizer to use?

I have a dwarf cavendish.. extremely clay soil.. I live in deep south Texas, so the sun is crazy. So I have it in a nice spot where it gets good sun for about 1/2 day..The leaves are pretty droopy.. The spot I had it in, got waaaay too much rain a few days ago so I dug it up and moved it to a part of the yard where I could control the watering.

What kind of fertilizer should I use?.. I'm kinda new to the banana stuff.

You want to use one high in potassium.

The most successful banana grower on this forum uses straight 13-13-13, although there are several banana formulas. I use the Sunniland Citrus/Avocado/Mango blend available at Lowe's because it has micros, and supplement with a dose of 0-0-50 Sulfate of Potash once per season.

If I were you, I'd dig a deep hole, perhaps 3-4 feet deep, and 5-6 feet across, and amend with plenty of organic matter, manure, etc. Clay is worthless to grow anything in.
