I've been wondering what my Musa popoulu would look like once they start blooming. :D Thanks for the pic. By the way, what's the mature stalk height of Musa popoulu?

About 10-11'. Interestingly, it has more than a dozen pups (which have been showing for almost 12 months), and none are over 3 inches tall, even though the parent plant is now fully mature.

The flowering bud looks almost like a corn stalk. : ) Thanks for the pictures, you always have great ones. BTW....one more thing pitangadiego, I truly envy you. I would love to be able to plant nanners up here YEAR ROUND and have bloomers. Maybe I'll get lucky and the Earth will change it's tilt so that the middle of the USA ends up on the equater!!!!

It only takes lots of money to have a greenhoue. What are you waiting for? As mucgh as I would wish our climate on everyone, there isn't rom for everyone here.

I've considered a greenhouse, but have no idea how I would heat it during the winter time.

The simplest way is to make a large pile of twenties in the middle of the greenhouse and light it. Any other option is at least that expensive.

Thanks for the great pictures. 2 questions: How do you load pictures onto gardenweb? Can you do it in a regular forum or is this special for pix? (I got here looking for popoulu...) How do you like the eating quality of popoulu? I like regular plantains (80% black, baked hot 450 until they goosh and split 45 min) and was looking for a plantain that would thrive in Honolulu.
