PNW Bananas

I just got two baby (4") Basjoos and two Orinocos (11") in the mail. I'm living in two places...one on Puget Sound and the other is on a lake. I put two in containers and at the Puget Sound home and will put them in a portable greenhouse come winter. I will place two at the lake home back from the lake by the vegetable garden. They will planted in the ground and I will try to baby them.

I know they are hardy here, but since PNW usually gets incessant rain in the winters, do I need to bag the ones planted in the ground or can I just mulch heavily? Is rot inevitable without bagging? Thanks.
