Wow! I wish I could say my bananas are taking over my yard. With my cool nights in northern Utah, my musa grow about half the size of yours. However, my musa ensete grow like weeds. Congratulations on your sucess with your bananas!

Now you've made me want to climb up on the roof (which terrifies me, even though it's only one story...) to take pictures! The interplay of textures (esp. the Tetrapanax against the bananas/cannas)is a cool effect.

Johnieb, your pics look great.I noticed that you have maybe only one pup growing from your basjoo.Do you keep removing pups so that it stays mostly as a single specimen? I think I like it better than the "mat" look.

Thanks, there are actually 4 or 5 pseudostems growing close together. I did remove several pups this spring, and continue to remove pups that pop up where I don't want them.

What is the plant in the bottom left hand corner? It looks like a gunnera. I planted a gunnera this year, but I'm nost sure it can handle the heat/humidity.
