Musa basjoo overwintering

terrain

I am a first-time basjoo owner, and have two growing in large pots in front of my city apartment. They have produced almost a leaf a week since we bought them in April and are now about 6 or 7 feet tall. Each one has produced a pup and now I see that one is starting to bud, which has totally made my summer!

Will my bananas survive the winter in their pots or do I need to plant them in the ground for the winter? I don't have much room indoors and absolutely no light. I know they are hardy to my zone, I just don't know if they will live in pots in my zone or just the ground. Will the leaves survive the winter in my area or do I cut it back?
