leaning banana problem

I have one dwarf cavendish that has begun to lean, almost to the point of falling over. I attempted to straighten it, but i may have snapped the trunk. I can see the white onion looking inside, but the trunk isnot completely severed.

Any suggestions on how to "repair" or get the banana to heal? I am planning on adding more soil to cover the "break area", and hoping damage is minimal.

There is good news, bad news. The bad news, is depending on the serverity of the break, I would just make a clean cut near the break line. The good news is that the banana will grow back fine, and straight.
