I am new to bananas also but have done my share of web surfing for banana info. I do not recall seeing your variety in the edible category. There are many fruit producing bananas that are not edible. Try bananas.org. You can get a real expert opinion from this site from people who know bananas.

I actually would have posted the original question on bananas.org, but the damn site makes you pay for a membership before you can post. So screw that.

As for the variety, it is my understanding that the Novak Super Dwarf is the same thing as the Super Dwarf Cavendish, an edible variety. I got it from ediblelanscaping dot com who describe it as an edible too.

It is a cavendish variety the same as store bought it is edible

It is only 5 dollars but well worth it.
Sometimes they will trade banana plants or have sales and responses are very quick.

Yes the plant will grow indoors but slower, much harder to fully develop fruit to maturity. Also change in environment temperature could shock the plant.
