Hi I have many musa basjoo planted around my backyard and I would like to know if and when I should cut them down and how far. I have been told that I should cut them to the ground and cover them with mulch and keep them dry and I should be ok. Our winter nights get to be as cold as -20F. They are protected from the north wind by my shed. I also have to plants in pots on my back porch is it too late to plant them in the ground or can I wait till the evenings start getting cool. Please let me know so I can have bananas for next spring. Thanks for your help.
