Black Spots on Musa

My poor little Musa is having a very tough time. Planted it in April, we had heavy rains, wind and hail in April and May. Now, we have had over 100 degree heat for the past 38 days. The trunk is not growing in height but it produces a new leaf about every week. I have lost a lot of the leaves due to the heat. Now I noticed some black spots on the leaves, can someone help me with this little gem?

I'm not a banana expert by any stretch but I've seen little spots on mine on occasion and as long as they're growing I ignore them. Mine wipe off so perhaps it's been a surface fungus or scale of sorts.

I have several Brazilian bananas that grow like yours, one leaf a week, very little vertical growth so I'd have no worries there.

Anyway, are you a member of bananas.org? They could be a better resource than garden web for banana issues... lots more traffic relating to bananas.
