Whitefly!!!

I just found whitefly on 3 of my 4 banana trees. I cut off the leaves with large infestations and carefully wiped down the rest with a paper towel soaked in alcohol. Does anyone else have a whitefly problem on their bananas? I usually see it on the hibiscus or sometimes the brugmansia so I keep an eye out for those nasty crittters but this is a first for the bananas.

Spray your banana plant with water mixed with a little liquid dish soap with a hose end sprayer. This will keep all the bugs away. I do this every three weeks or so and never have any bug troubles. Red

They are not really an issue, and mostly found on the older leaves that are beginning to fade away. Just hose them off with water from time to time. The Hibiscus is a host plant. Eliminate the Hibiscus, and they will not tend to "spill over" on to the bananas.
