I have recently bought a Dwarf Orinoco Banana. Will it fruit in Dallas, TX? Also what are the fertilizing needs and water needs of this plant?

The corm is hardy in your zone but you will need protection of the pseudostem to have any chance of fruit. On my more cold sensitive bananas, I've been known to wrap the pseudostem with a blanket or two. My soil is naturally acidic which bananas and tropicals love. I fertilize with composted chicken manure, Miracid water soluble fertilizer, Stokes Banana blend fert. The chicken manure is relatively inexpensive. The other stuff can get pricey. I know of a lot of banana enthusiasts that use simple 12-12-12 granulated lawn fert. and swear by it. During the warm months, they almost can't get enough water as long as they are planted in a well drained location.
