Is it too late?

I have 2 hardy banana plants in pots. I was thinking about overwintering one in the garage and putting the other in the ground against a southfacing wall of the house and mulching and protecting it this winter. Is it too late to put it in the ground now? I also have a banana plant that is not hardy in a pot that is about 5ft tall. What are the chances of it surving in a southfacing window inside? Thanks for any advise. ellen

what type of bananas are they? How cold does it get where you are. I dont think even a musa basjoo has enough time to get established enough to survive any zone below an 8 or so.

they should survive in that window just watch out for pests and dont over water.

thanks for your reply. I am in 7b zone and they are musa basjoo bananas. Since I don't have enought time to get them established in the ground I will probably let them go dormant in the garage. They are too big to bring inside!! Thanks again.

If you buried it deep and mulched well it may make it but I would wait till spring.
