Musa Bajoo - What is best, indoor over-winter method?

I have a potted (8" dia./14" deep) Musa that is about 3.5' tall with about 6 pups ranging from 4" to nearly 2'. It's been outside all summer and now we are getting colder at night. So far, coldest has been high 30's.

My novice questions are:

-When should I bring it indoors?

Should I cut all down to about 6" (or what) or just leave as is?

-What is the best way to keep indoors? Dark and dry, growing in light, in the pot, out of pot - wrapped in paper, ect...

-Basically, what to do I do with it?

Once spring time returns, providing it lives through the winter, I am hoping to plant it in the ground and then wintering it outdoors next winter.

Thanks
