ARRRRRRRR MATEY !!!! I have always wanted to do that. I would bring the pot inside and place in a nice sunny window. You certainly don't want it to freeze. Don't cut it down. leave as is. Water sparingly in winter and let it dry out between waterings. You'll also need to mist it 2-5 times per week to keep spider mites away and/or put a fan on the plant. Next year in springtime, after danger of frost has passed, you'll be able to split the pups up, plant them outside, let them grow for a full summer and then experiment with several overwintering techniques to see what you like.

Please help me with my banana trees,I have 3 very hardy
planted in ground this spring .One of these was from last
year,potted and brought indoors. Planted it this year, and
it did well. Didn't know if I could leave outdoors and
it would survive ?

What do you call "hardy"? In zone six with a lot of protection,about all we can overwinter outdoors is musa basjoo and maybe musa sikkimensis.
